Install AtlasEye
What the host needs, and the three steps from a Linux host to a running AtlasEye. The host check needs no account and no license: run it before you buy.
What the host needs
- An x86_64 (amd64) Linux host with Docker Engine 24 or newer and the Compose v2 plugin, 2.23 or newer (the installer checks both). The online install also needs OpenSSL 3 or newer to check the release signature; the offline bundle does not.
- CPU, RAM and free disk where Docker keeps its images: see the sizing table below.
- Outbound HTTPS to our license server (https://license.atlaseye.eu), our image registry, Docker Hub, gcr.io and DB-IP's download server (download.db-ip.com) for the GeoIP database. Ports that must be free on the host: TCP 80, 443, 514 and UDP 514 on every address, and TCP 5432, 5601, 6379, 8000, 8081, 9090, 9100, 9200 on 127.0.0.1.
- Root access: the installer writes /opt/atlaseye, Docker volumes and the host's install identity.
| Profile | Devices, up to | Syslog EPS, average / peak | vCPU, min / rec. | RAM, min / rec. | Disk, min / rec. | Disk type | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| lab | 50 | 50 / 200 | 4 / 4 | 8 GB / 8 GB | 160 GB / 250 GB | SSD | supported |
| small | 250 | 250 / 1,000 | 4 / 8 | 12 GB / 16 GB | 650 GB / 1,000 GB | SSD | supported |
| medium | 1,000 | 1,000 / 4,000 | 16 / 16 | 32 GB / 32 GB | 2,400 GB / 3,500 GB | NVMe preferred | supported |
| large | 2,500 | 2,500 / 10,000 | 16 / 24 | 48 GB / 64 GB | 6,000 GB / 8,000 GB | NVMe | planned |
- Pick the smallest profile that covers both your device count and your average syslog rate in events per second (EPS). If you do not know the rate, count 1 EPS per device. Beyond large, contact support.
- Large is planned and not tested yet.
- The minimum carries the full load at the default retention (syslog 30 days, metrics 90 days, Prometheus 15 days) with backups kept off the host. The recommended size leaves room for growth, peaks and a daily database backup on the same disk.
- Hard floors: the installer refuses a host with less than 5.5 GB RAM (5,632 MB), 2 vCPU or 30 GiB free disk on the Docker data root. It warns below the lab minimum, and for disk below 136 GiB (85% of 160; the disk checks read the disk sizes of the table as GiB). An update needs 10 GiB free.
- The sizes assume a dedicated host: AtlasEye is its only workload.
Install in three steps
-
Check the host
It changes nothing on the host and needs no license. It reports anything that would stop the install before you start it.
curl -fsSLO https://license.atlaseye.eu/portal/static/atlaseye-preflight.sh sudo bash atlaseye-preflight.sh -
Run the installer
Paste your license key when the installer asks for it, not on the command line, where other users of the host could read it. Run it inside tmux or screen. If it stops, run the same command again and it resumes.
curl -fsSLO https://license.atlaseye.eu/portal/static/atlaseye-install.sh sudo bash atlaseye-install.shStep 2 needs a license key. Create an account to get one: your key then appears on the Downloads page, next to these steps.
-
Open the setup page
Open this address in a browser and sign in with the one-time admin password the installer printed. The browser warns about the self-signed certificate until you install your own. The guided setup starts by activating the license: use the same key.
https://<your-host>/setup
Air-gapped or restricted networks
If the host cannot reach our registry, install from a signed offline bundle with scripts/install_airgap.sh instead. It verifies the bundle with cosign before it loads anything, so cosign must be installed on the host. Activation works offline too. With an active paid license, download the bundle from the Downloads page after you sign in; otherwise, ask support for it.
